Expansion Joint Filler

SANWA foam is flexible, readily compressible, closed-cell polyethylene joint filler supplied in sheet form. Strip and special size are available. The product is designed for the use as an expansion joint filler in concrete, brick and block work, isolation joints and hinge joints. These are used as back up strips for elastromeric sealants.

SANWA foam is positioned to provide a surface sealing slot of required dimensions when used as an expansion or isolation joint filler in brick-work, to ensure that the sealing slot is free from mortar dropping or slurry bridging. Suitable adhesive may be used to position SANWAfoam sheet but ensure not to contaminate the surfaces of the sealing slot with adhesive. when SANWAfoam is used as a back up strips it used to regulate the depth of the sealing slot and ensure the movement of the joint sealant is not restricted by adhesion to the base of the sealing cavity. The size of the back-up strip should be greater than the joint width, and depressed sufficiently to provide the required sealing slot dimensions.
